On 04/24/2026 at approximately 1118 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident on N Fireweed Fields Dr in Wasilla. The suspect was identified as David Taylor, 43, of Wasilla. This was the second criminal domestic disturbance involving Taylor since 4/21/26. Taylor barricaded in his residence and Troopers on-scene made observations that he was using natural gas to create a hazardous situation. Fire, EMS, SWAT, and the local natural gas utility company responded to the scene. After a brief standoff, Taylor exited the residence and was safely taken into custody. Taylor was transported to Matsu Regional Hospital for self-inflicted injuries and later remanded to Matsu Pre-trial under the charges of Assault IV, Criminal Mischief IV, Interfering with the Report of a DV Crime, and Unlawful Contact I. No bail was set.
