On 4/25/2026 at approximately 0015 hours, Soldotna AST responded to the intersection of Marydale Avenue and the Kenai Spur Highway to investigate an allegation of misconduct involving a weapon. During the investigation, it was revealed that Gavin Bennett (27 of Sterling) was found to have driven to the scene while intoxicated. Bennett was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and later provided a breath sample of 0.106% BrAC. Bennett was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility on the charge of DUI.

On 4/25/2026 at approximately 0137 hours, Soldotna AST received a report of an active disturbance at the Soldotna Inn in Sterling. The caller reported hearing a male threaten to kill someone in the room and observed the male with a knife earlier in the evening. AST responded to the address and contacted Christian Moore (age 32 of Kenai). Moore was extremely elevated and apparently high on drugs. Investigation revealed Moore had caused fear of injury to an intimate partner, damaged property in the hotel, was in possession of two types of controlled substances, and also resisted arrest. Moore was placed under arrest for DV Assault IV, two counts of MICS V, Criminal Mischief IV, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. Moore was transported to the hospital for evaluation, upon release he will be remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

On April 25, 2026, at approximately 0908 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Sterling. Investigation revealed Dean McBride, age 60 of Sterling, was threatening suicide with a handgun by putting the gun in his mouth among other behavior. Eventually he fired a round into the wall of his bedroom. Troopers responded to the residence after the fact where McBride surrendered peacefully after being called out from the house. McBride was visibly intoxicated and later provided a PBT of .208 BrAC. McBride was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial on the charges of MIW 2, MIW4, Assault 4, and Criminal Mischief 5 where he was held without bail.

On 4/26/2026, at approximately 1430 hours, Soldotna Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a REDDI (report every dangerous driver immediately), a black SUV Yukon XL had been driving with various speeds and was unable to maintain a steady lane position. AST located the vehicle at a pullout at near mile 47 of the Seward Highway. At the conclusion of the investigation, Aaron Kozevnikoff, age 38 of Anchorage, was placed under arrest. He later refused to provide a breath sample and a search warrant was obtained for his blood to be seized and tested. Kozevnikoff was remanded to Spring Creek Correctional Center and held on a $1,000.00 bail on the charges of DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

On 04-24-26 at approximately 1751 hours, AST responded to a residence in Palmer after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Mark Drake (70 YOA Male) assaulted his wife by recklessly causing her physical injury. He was arrested and remanded on the above charge at MSPT.

On 04/24/2026 at approximately 1118 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident on N Fireweed Fields Dr in Wasilla. The suspect was identified as David Taylor, 43, of Wasilla. This was the second criminal domestic disturbance involving Taylor since 4/21/26. Taylor barricaded in his residence and Troopers on-scene made observations that he was using natural gas to create a hazardous situation. Fire, EMS, SWAT, and the local natural gas utility company responded to the scene. After a brief standoff, Taylor exited the residence and was safely taken into custody. Taylor was transported to Matsu Regional Hospital for self-inflicted injuries and later remanded to Matsu Pre-trial under the charges of Assault IV, Criminal Mischief IV, Interfering with the Report of a DV Crime, and Unlawful Contact I. On 04/25/2026, AST conducted a traffic stop on a side-by-side driving down KGB Rd that had crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. An investigation revealed that Gabriel Scavette, aged 24 of Wasilla, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Gabriel was arrested, transported, and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial.

On April 24, 2026, at approximately 2112 hours, AST responded to Fort Greely for a report of a vehicle that had bypassed the entry control point. The sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Tommy Sauer, age 50, of Delta Junction. During the incident, Sauer nearly collided with a Fort Greely Police Department vehicle acting in its official capacity to prevent further access into the installation. Sauer was charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Trespass. He was remanded to FCC without bail.

On 04/24/2026 at 2255 hours the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a physical fight in an employee living area of a local hotel. Investigation determined Rony Collado-Espinal, age 30 from New York assaulted a roommate causing physical injury to the roommate. Rony was arrested and remanded to FCC where he was held without bail pending arraignment. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

On April 25, 2026, AST responded to a disturbance in North Pole. Upon arrival at the scene, investigation revealed that a domestic assault took place. The suspect was taken into custody and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility on one charge of assault in the fourth degree and one count of assault in the presence of a child. The investigation is currently ongoing.

On April 25, 2026, at 3:47 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a crashed black pickup near Fairbanks and a possibly intoxicated driver. Troopers located the unoccupied vehicle and later contacted Kolby Wood nearby after a passerby reported a male lying near a guardrail.
Wood was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Misconduct involving weapons. Kolby was transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center, where he was remanded for his offenses.
